Are you a food enthusiast living in Walnut Creek? You might be surprised at the types of culinary experiences you can have just outside your front door. Here are a few of our favorites:
Parada
The first Peruvian restaurant on our list is the brainchild of chef Carlos Altamirano, best known for his burgeoning culinary empire throughout California, including the San Francisco-based Mochica and La Costanera in Half Moon Bay. If you’ve been to either of these restaurants, you may be familiar with typical Peruvian fare, and Parada continues Altamirano’s tradition of elevating traditional dishes like cebiche, arroz con marisco, and lomo saltado to the next level.
Limón
If you can’t get enough of Peruvian cuisine, be sure to visit Limón after you’ve sampled Parada’s wares. While you’ll find many of the same traditional dishes on the menu, you’ll also find creative twists and fusion dishes such as chef Martín Castillo’s pork belly & waffles and avocado toast. Don’t forget to get a bite of rich Peruvian chocolate by ordering the restaurant’s famous chocolate bandido cake for dessert.
Broderick Roadhouse
Broderick Roadhouse was born from a Sacramento food truck and has since developed into one of Walnut Creek residents’ favorite spots for comfort food like burgers, banh mi, tacos, and pasta. Their brunch menu is also worth rising early in the morning or waiting until the afternoon for, with tantalizing dishes such as bread pudding French toast, Belgian waffles with bourbon syrup, and old-fashioned biscuits and gravy.
Havana
Havana brings the exotic flavors of Cuba to Walnut Creek, with a crowd-pleasing bar and dining experience. If you enjoy some good alcoholic drinks with your food, be sure to check out the Bottomless Brunch drink menu and have a mimosa or mojito alongside your favorite brunch items. Be sure to try the plantain French toast for brunch as well. You won’t regret it!
Walnut Creek is a great place to discover your next food obsession, and after sampling Manakish Oven & Grill’s dishes, you might find yourself craving the Mediterranean dish known as Manakish. Manakish is a perfect introduction to Middle Eastern food for pizza lovers, as it consists of flatbread with similar ingredients such as cheese, but with other delicious surprises such as olives and spices. Manakish Oven & Grill is proud to provide Mediterranean food to Concord, CA and surrounding areas such as Walnut Creek.
